Recap
The Little Rose Bowl in West Branch was a busy place Friday night as it played host to Military Appreciation Night and press box donor recognition ceremony. Oh, and a football game as well. The Bears welcomed to town the Wapello Indians for the Bears' 2019 season home-opener.
While the Bears' defense picked up right where it left off last week against West Liberty, the offense had a bit of a slow start before getting going in the 3rd quarter thanks to some brusing runs and great passes by Tanner Lukavsky and Gavin Hierseman, respectively. After it was all said and done, West Branch ended the evening with a 24-7 victory to move their record to 2-0 halfway through its non-district schedule.
