Recap

The Bears returned home Friday night for a matchup against the Wapello Indians. In addition to being an explosion on the field before the game, there was certainly one from the Bears as the offense tallied 42 points and the defense held Wapello scoreless and to only 98 yards of total offense.

After forcing a Wapello three and out to begin the game, the Bears marched right down the field on a 5-play, 39-yard scoring drive that was capped off by a 2-yard Lucas Lamont jump-pass to Devin Kindon. On the next Wapello possession, Mason Hays intercepts a pass and takes it 31 yards to the end zone for a defensive touchdown, the Bears' first all season (13-0 West Branch).

In the second quarter, Luke Lenoch gets on the board with a fantastic 18 yard touchdown run. On the 2-point conversion, Lucas Lamont throws a perfect corner fade pass to Mason Hays to put the Bears up 21-0. With about two minutes left in the half, Lenoch finds the end zone again, this time on a 9-yard run up the middle to extend the Bears' lead to 28.

In the third quarter, Devin Kindon breaks several tackles and misses many defenders to find his way into the end zone on a 27 yard touchdown run (35-0 West Branch).

In the fourth quarter, the final score of the game came off a 19 yard quarterback waggle play that Lucas Lamont decided to keep and take into the end zone. This put the Bears on-top 42-0.

After the game, Coach Pedersen congratulated his players on a job well done but reminded them that their performance was a little sloppy and that they need to clean a lot of that up in the coming weeks.
