Game Notes
West Burlington senior RB/DB Isaiah Trousil is the fastest HS athlete in the state of Iowa. Just search 2016 Iowa State Track and Field times, and you'll find out. He rushed for 140 yards in the Falcons' opening week 14-12 OT victory over rival Mediapolis. Sophomore QB Drake Day threw for over 120 yards and 2 TD in his first varsity game. Look for a Snodgrass brother (Tate and Tanner) to be his main targets....The Bears had a sophomore QB of their own play well. In his first varsity start, Beau Cornwell accounted for 3 TD (2 rush, 1 pass) and 4 extra points. His backfield counterparts Luke Lenoch (178 yards, 2 TD) and Cale Donovan (87 yards and a score) also had a big night as West Branch rushed for 390 yards. Junior DE Billy Friis led a new look Bear defense with 9 tackles and a fumble recovery.
