Recap
What a game in West Burlington Friday night.
It was a back-and-forth battle with defense ruling most of the night... until late in the 4th quarter. In the final five minutes and 30 seconds, the Bears scored 21 points off of three touchdowns, more points than they had scored the other 42 minutes and 30 seconds of the game. Those scores propelled the Bears to a 38-17 victory of the West Burlington-Notre Dame Falcons.
The West Branch defense held the explosive Falcon offense in check the entire second half, giving up a total of 339 yards, which is well below the Falcons' 519 per game average. Leading the way on defense in tackles was Cale Donovan with seven total tackles, followed by Devin Kindon and Aaron Barnes each with six total tackles. Jake Evans and Colton Dietz each had great nights on the defensive line, helping to slow the Falcon running game.
Offensively, the Bears put up 319 yards, more than half of that coming from junior running back Luke Lenoch who had 142 yards rushing and 61 yards receiving (203 total).
