On Friday the Iowa High School Athletic Association announced the classifications and districts of all teams for the upcoming 2021 and 2022 football seasons.

West Branch will remain in Class 1A and will play in District 5 along with the following teams:

  • Durant (4-3 in 2020)
  • Louisa-Muscatine (1-6 in 2020)
  • Mediapolis (5-2 in 2020)
  • Regina (6-1 in 2020)
  • Wilton (2-5 in 2020)

These teams will account for five of opponents on the Bears' 2021 and 2022 eight-game schedules, which have yet to be determined and announced. After having received their districts today, teams will soon submit their three non-district game opponent choices to the state to assist them in composing the full schedules. It is expected that those schedules will be announced within the next two months.

All of Class 1A and its districts can be viewed in this PDF from the IHSAA. All classifications and districts can be viewed on the IHSAA website.
