For the first round of the 2018 Iowa High School Football State Playoffs, the Bears made the two+ hour trek to Osage to take on the 7-2 district 3 champions in the Green Devils.
Coming into the game, Osage was averaging 460 yards and 38 points per game. The stout West Branch defense, however, held them to 247 yards and just 14 points in a blowout 56-14 victory.

West Branch will make a long trip again next week as they take on the defending state champs, Van Meter, in the quarterfinal round.
