Recap
West Branch traveled to Dyersville Friday night to take on a Distrct 4 foe, the Beckman Blazers, in a week-nine shootout. On a beautiful night in the northeast part of the state, the Bears kept their three-game winning streak alive and upped it to four with a 48-24 victory.
During the game, West Branch receiver Trey Eagle caught three touchdown passes, which ties a school record, last met earlier this year by Brett Schiele. The Bears tallied 563 yards of offense, which was just seven yards short of a new school record.
More importantly, however, the victory ensured a playoff qualification for West Branch, who were announced as having qualified late Friday night by the IHSAA.
