As the final week of the regular season inches closer, each game for the West Branch Bears is a big one. Friday night's match-up against the Tipton Tigers was certainly an affirmation of that fact as both teams were vying for the final playoff spot available in Class 1A District 3 with just two games left in the season. It was win or die time for both teams.
For three quarters Friday night in Tipton, it was a battle of teams who didn't want their season to end. The final quarter? The team that wanted it more buried their stake in the ground as the Bears scored 21 unanswered points to take down the Tigers 28-14 to stay alive in District 3 and the playoff chase.
