After receiving the ball to start the game, the Bears took their opening drive into the endzone on an eight yard touchdown run by Luke Lenoch. On the extra point attempt, kicker Javier Zamudio was successful on his first varsity PAT try.
Throughout the rest of the first quarter and most of the sceond, the Bears and the J-Hawks were locked into a defensive battle, trading punts and turnovers back and forth.
With just 15 seconds left in the first half, the Bears got the ball and looked to score. While at midfield, quarterback Brandon Rummelhart hit Luke Lenoch on a screen pass that resulted in a 16 yard gain down to the J-Hawks' 34 yard line. On the very next play, Rummelhart threw it up for receiver Cooper Kabela who used his big hands and height to come down with the ball in the endzone with one second left in the half. Bears head into the half with an exciting 14-0 lead.
Both teams again got locked into a defensive battle to start the second half. However, late into the third quarter, the Bears pushed their way down the field and capped off a long drive with another eight yard Luke Lenoch touchdown run to go up 21-0. On the next offensive possession for the J-Hawks, cornerback Ben Thompson picked off the pass to give the ball back to the Bears. Next play: Lenoch broke loose for a 37 yard touchdown run to break the game open at 28-0.
In the fourth, Jesup got on the board thanks to a beautiful 26 yard pitch and catch, resulting in a touchdown. The Bears answer qucikly as Luke Lench burst his way into the endzone for his 4th touchdown of the evening. With 3:16 left, the J-Hawks got on the board again, but it wasn't enough as the Bears came out victorious 35-14.
