Game Capsule: West Branch at Louisa-Muscatine
The Second Season Begins

Location: Louisa-Muscatine Schools
Date: September 16, 2022
Time: 7:00pm CDT
Game Notes
LOUISA-MUSCATINE is a team with low expectations when you ask most people. However, MOST people are not inside the Falcon locker room. Their squad has high hopes of building a foundation of success for future squads. There are definitely some bright spots to open up your eyes. Specifically, Chris Day and Jesse Reinier. Day has carried the ball just 34 times this season - but amassed 438 yards and three scores. Do the math: it's a mind-bending 12.9 yards per carry. Reinier isn't far behind at 12 yards a tote. The leading tackler on defense? Day. It's a new season for the Falcons, also. They may just spread the wings and fly high.
WEST BRANCH enters district play riding high on a 3-0 start, coming off a 59-0 home victory against Maq Valley. We can talk about the offense and how it has the #1 scoring offense in Class 1A at 51.33 points per game. But, let's talk defense. The Bears are giving up just 11 points a week. West Branch has recovered 5 fumbles, and hauled in 1 INT – what you hear next is yet another mind-bending statistic. All 6 turnovers have been returned for a TD. No other team in the entire state (all classes) has more than 3 defensive scores. Hopefully the opportunistic, hard-hitting Bears can win (against) the Day.
KEEP AN EYE ON – Day, obviously. He will be wearing jersey #15
QUOTABLE – “We know they (L/M) will be hungry and ready to give us a test. I just hope we continue getting better and prepared for the district season.” – West Branch senior WR/DB Kinnick Boelk.
