Brant Wrede, son of WB activities director Jeff Wrede, is the QB for the Falcons and the fire plug. He has thrown for over 400 yards and rushed for over 200 (including 160 in week 2). His main target is speedster Xavier Williams, who has 9 receptions for 214 yards (all in week 1). Other players to watch: WR Jacob Smith (8 rec, 132 yards) and RB/WR Tim Williams. The Falcons placed 2nd at the 2014 Iowa Boys State Track meet, and all their points were in sprint events. One word: SPEED!!!.....The Bears used a very strong defensive performance, again, in week 2. And the offense is clicking as well, 28 points in 5:45 will open eyes. QB Lucas Lamont, RB Luke Lenoch, RB Devin Kindon, and TE Nick Westcott accounted for all 49 points. West Branch leads Class 1A in scoring (45.5 per game) and in total defense. The Bears will be wearing purple jerseys tonight to honor the "Polar Bear" teams of the pre-WWII era. Jake Rummells will be in attendance as an honoree.
