Steven is a 1998 Graduate of West Branch High School, earning 1st Team All-District OL and Academic All-State as a senior.

He graduated from the University of Iowa and worked at KXIC radio, hosting the “Coaches Corner” and announcing area high school games before opening Main Street Sweets in 2010.

Steven was the first BearCast Voice of the Bears, doing the play-by-play from 2014 through the 2021 season. He also joined Jason Miller and Matt Chinander on the "Talking Bear Football” podcast for several years.

In 2022, former Head Coach Butch Pedersen persuaded Steven to leave the broadcast booth and take over as the Head Coach of the Fresh/Soph squad.

Steven is married to Jessica (Hahn) Grace, a 2000 graduate of West Branch and they have daughters: Rylee, Laney and Jaclyn.
