Recap: Bears' comeback effort falls short against Cascade

Down 21-0 in the fourth quarter, the Bears made a game of it.

A soaked surface and never-ending rain prevented West Branch Schools from getting Butch Pedersen Field at the Little Rose Bowl prepared for play Friday night, so Activities Director Jake Stenberg called an audible, and the school district of Solon offered to help. The artificial turf surface at Spartan Stadium on the grounds of the Solon Community School District graciously played host to the Bears' matchup with Cascade Friday evening.

After several missed red zone opportunities, the Bears' offense was held scoreless in the first half but the defense was keeping them in the game with an interception, forced turnover on downs, and just six points allowed. The second half, and specifically the fourth quarter is where the Bears started to make it a game. Down 21-0 heading into the fourth, the Bears' offense puts some points on the board and had fans wondering "can they pull this off?".

Ultimately, the Bears' comeback effort fell short as they fell to Cascade 21-14 to fall to 1-2 on the season. Check out highlights, photos, stats, and more from the game below.
