In what is believed to be the first game in West Branch Football history to be played on a Thursday, the Bears welcomed to town district foe, the Bellevue Comets. The Bears and Comets opened District 4 play Thursday night at the Little Rose Bowl, looking for the same fireworks these two teams have shot off the past few years in what has come to be a pretty big game on each team's schedule. Thursday did not disappoint.
Scoring a combined 80 points and racking up over 850 yards, each team came out firing on all cylinders in a race to the finish line. Luckily for the Bears, they reached it first, beating the Comets by a score of 52-28 to move to 5-0 and gain an upper-hand in District 4.
