The Iowa Shrine Bowl has announced that West Branch senior Jacob Giese will participate in this year's edition of the Iowa Shrine Bowl game and will play with the South Squad wearing number 59.

"I'm glad I can represent the great team we had this year up at the Dome!" -- Jacob Giese

The 2015 Shrine Bowl game will take place Saturday, July 25th at 4:00pm at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. The game is an all-star football game between selected pre-college football athletes on each side of a north-south dividing line in Iowa.

The players are selected by a process of nomination by coaches, balloting by state-wide sports media professionals, and official invitation from a representative of the Iowa Shrine Bowl. The game brings honor and recognition to the players, their schools and their communities. It has also been an effective tool in raising money for The Shriner's Hospital For Children.

Tickets for the game are available now. Pre-purchased tickets are $10 per person and $15 per person at the gate. Tickets are available by contacting the Iowa Shrine Bowl office at P.O. Box 22160 Des Moines, Iowa 50325 or emailing Iowa Shrine Game. Children under 6 are free.

Earlier this year, Giese announced his decision to accept a Prefered Walk-On offer from the University of Iowa to play with the Hawekeys.

Giese becomes the 28th player and/or coach to participate in the Shrine Bowl Game in West Branch Football history. The full list of players/coaches can be found here. Last year, West Branch graduate Michael Gould was selected to play in the all-star game. The previous year, 2013, current Iowa Hawkeyes linebacker Bo Bower was selected.
