This morning at West Branch High School, Bear seniors Jacob Giese and Jon St. John took part in National Signing Day and signed their letters of intent to play college football for two great Iowa institutions.

Jacob Giese has accepted a preferred walk-on position with the University of Iowa. Accompanied by his parents, Uncle, Coach Butch Pedersen, and Activities Director Jeff Wrede, Jacob signed to play football for the Hawkeyes. Also accompanying Jacob was Lance Pedersen (son of Butch), Jacob's coach while he attended Wilton High School.

Jon St. John has accepted a full-ride scholarship to play for the Central Iowa Community College Tritons in Fort Dodge. Accompanying Jon were family members, Coach Pedersen, and Activities Director Jeff Wrede, as he signed on to play football for the Tritons.

Congratulations to these two West Branch seniors! We look forward to seeing you play on Saturdays. Photos from this morning's signing, provided by Principal Bucknell.
